Back to Singapore

We went back to Singapore from Melaka which was funny as we were going through immigration on a bus and got lost. We finally found our bus and the driver and everybody else was laughing at us as we did the walk of shame down the aisle... Only we could manage this...
While we were in Singapore we checked out the awesome, massively pokey Bugis Street market which was amazing. Of course most of the clothes etc were for warm weather so no purchases were made but it was fun nevertheless. Pretty full on too.
We went to the Singapore zoo too for the night safari which was amazing. We saw lions, leopards, tigers, bats, hippos, pelicans, rhinos, elephants, giraffes, deer, small cats, otters, hyenas and lots of native Asian animals which was cool. It was good to see the nocturnal animals going about their business.

It was so funny at the 'Creatures of the Night' show as when the hyenas appeared on top of the cliff behind the stage one proceeded to "do it's business" right at the tip giving the audience a most unpleasant show (the host was oblivious and continued the show probably wondering what all the laughter was about). The show was aimed at children and at one stage they pretended to have *lost* a massive reticulated python in the audience. A man in front of us took it seriously and fully panicked, grabbing his wife by the arm and preparing to bolt. It was so cute too as this guy that was in our group said when we asked him how he liked the show "well I just can't believe that they lost a python in the audience! That freaked me out, it was under someones feet!"... We just bit our tongues in quiet amusement.

In front of an aquarium full of bright fish and coral.

In front of the safari bus.
It ended out being quite a late night because our driver didn't turn up to pick us up and after 2 hours and many phone calls he arrived with sleep in his eyes. Turns out he had fallen asleep waiting for us... This was quite unexpected in orderly and organised Singapore!
